This year we are expanding the classic Looking Glass Rock ‘Adopt-A-Crag’ trail day into a weekend long event for climbers from across the Southeast region to get together and to raise funds and awareness for the Access Fund, Carolina Climbers Coalition and Southeastern Climbers Coalition.

The event will have three main components, Saturday 9am-1pm is the Access Fund Adopt A Crag trail day at Looking Glass Rock, with time to climb through the afternoon at the Glass. Saturday evening will be the Carolina Climbers Coalition Event of a catered BBQ, slide show and multimedia presentations from local climbers with a huge silent auction and fundraiser for the CCC. On Sunday Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School will be offering two Climbers Self Rescue Courses with 100% of the proceeds going to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition.

Event Goals

• Bringing the local climbing community together.

• Encouraging cooperative efforts and build partnerships between climbers, local businesses, and land managers.
  
• Providing a venue for individuals to give back to their local climbing areas through conservation.
  
• Showcasing local climbing talent.
  
• Create a venue to share technical skills and teach risk management and rescue skills.
  
• Getting out on the rock and having fun!
  

Event Fundraising Goals:

• Recruit 20+ climbers to join or renew their membership of The Access Fund
  
• Raise $2,000+ for the Carolina Climbers Coalition from the Silent Auction and BBQ
  
• Raise $2,000+ for the Southeastern Climbers Coalition from the FMG Climbers Self Rescue Course

Schedule of Events
Saturday 25th September
9am-1pm: Access Fund Adopt A Crag Trail Day. Meet at 9am at Guides Gear Outfitters for coffee and doughnuts supplied by Brighter Day Coffee.
Location: (3228 Asheville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768. For GPS directions type in 700 Asheville Hwy).

9.30am: Break into three teams to work on the South Face, North Face and Nose Area Trails.
1pm: Finish trail work and go climbing at various areas on Looking Glass Rock.

6pm: Carolina Climbers Coalition Event. Catered BBQ, Silent Auction and Multimedia Presentation by local climbers at Fox Mountain Guides new ‘Guides House’ and future climbers’ campsite. Silent Auction will end at 7pm, Multimedia presentations are scheduled from 7.30pm-9pm. BBQ will be free for all that worked the Trail day Event, $7 a plate for evening guests. 100% of the proceeds will go to the CCC. This Silent Auction is always HUGE with tones of gear up for grabs. If you are looking for a new rope, rack or any other climbing goodies this is where you will want to be. We will be able to take cash, checks and credit cards as payment for the silent auction items. Come and get some gear for cheap while helping out the CCC!

Sunday 26th September
9am-5pm: Southeastern Climbers Coalition Self Rescue Course. Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School will be offering two Climbers Self Rescue Courses at a discounted rate of $100 a space. 100% of the proceeds of this course to go to the SCC and we hope to fill all 20 spaces (10 on each course). This will be a great way to lean or brush up on rescue skills while donating $100 to the SCC at the same time! We hope to raise $2,000 so please help us by signing up! The two courses will be run by AMGA Certified Rock Guides Adam Fox and Karsten Delap at Looking Glass Rock, NC. The course will run 9am-5pm and we can supply all the gear required if necessary.
